Gay Elder Circle Monthly Meeting – June 14, 2020

We hope everyone is well, safe and healthy during the ongoing Caronavirus virus situation.  We continue to keep yourself safe with physical distancing, wearing face masks, exercise when and where you can. Choose healthy food options over convenience options.

P.R.I.D.E. is in the Air and on the Net

There is no stopping PRIDE.  Many cities around the world have transitioned to virtual PRIDE events.  Some event will be live, some will be historical we salute the many organizations who have stepped up their efforts to keep communities together during the Caronavirus crisis and through PRIDE month.

City of West Hollywood Update:

The City of West Hollywood upgraded their “Safer At Home” protocol. The City of West Hollywood requires the use of cloth face coverings in public beginning on Saturday, May 23, 2020.  Also per the City of West Hollywood all non-essential events and meetings, including City-sponsored events, City co-sponsored events, and City-funded events — as well as any events or filming that require a permit — will be postponed or cancelled through June 30, 2020. 

It appears we might be able to have an in-person meeting in August.  Please send an email via the link below if you feel strongly that the the Gay Elder Circle schedule a virtual check-in at what would have been our normal meeting date on June 14, 2020.  If we have enough positive respondents a virtual check-in will be arranged. 

We invite and welcome everyone to join the Gay Elder Circle in spirit on June 14, 2020, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm. We encourage you to set aside personal time for conscious reflection.  We anticipate being able to have an in-person meeting in August. 

You are encouraged to send us your quotes of ancestor wisdom, and suggested book readings, or websites of interest to be included in our June 2020 notification. Use the Contact Us form on our website.  

I encourage you to be conscious, mindful and to live with purpose during this time of continuing health challenges in our community.  Remember to be a mentor to others and continue to be a visible Elder in the community in person or through virtual portals.
