Gay Elder Circle – Monthly Meeting July 12, 2020
We hope everyone continues to be well, safe and healthy during the ongoing Coronavirus virus situation. We continue to encourage you to keep yourself safe with physical distancing, wearing face masks, exercise when and where you can. Choose healthy food options over convenience options.
Summer is here and despite the Coronavirus many persons are eager to stop self-isolating. At a time when many persons enjoy going to the beach, hiking, or enjoying a BBQ’s with friends we still need to exercise caution in public spaces.
City of West Hollywood Update:
On June 15, 2020 the City of West Hollywood upgraded their “Safer At Home” protocol. The City of West Hollywood still requires the use of cloth face coverings in public. Please also note as of July 1, 2020 the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Department will begin to issue citations for not wearing a face covering in public within City limits. We were informed the citations to be $300.00.
Access to public facilities were to begin this month. We are eagerly trying to schedule an in-person meeting however COVID-19 is a quickly changing environment and we are working quickly to secure meeting space with the City of West Hollywood. All indicators initially looked good for us to have an in-person meeting in July, however the increase number of COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles County is preventing that possibility. We will advise everyone if this changes. Any meeting will still requires physical distancing, which we can accommodate. The Gay Elder Circle will have a small supply face masks to be provided for meeting attendees for our yet unscheduled in-person meeting. Hand sanitizer will also be available.
